Ash Wednesday is the start of pre-easter period. As a catholic, we receive ash on our forehead in the Ash Wednesday. The ash remind us of our origin. This moment is always celebrated 40-days before easter days. In this year, Ash Wednesday is celebrated on February 22nd.
Strada Kampung Sawah Elementary School students attended to the Ash Wednesday mass together with all of the Catholic around school in the St. Servatius Catholic Church.
The students of Strada Kampung Sawah Elementary school were divided into 2 sessions. The first session included Catholic students from the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th grade, while the non-Catholic students were allowed to go home earlier. The first session started from 10.00 to 11.10. The first session led by Father Yohanes Wartaya, SJ.
Later, the second session included Catholic students from the 3rd, and 4th grade. The second session started from 12.00 to 13.05. Same as the previous session, all of the non-Catholic students were allowed to go home earlier. The second session led by Father Romanus Wahono Wegig, SJ.
